Quiet Time & Outreach Count

Help us reach our monthly goal! Report your weekly readings below.

What is Discipleship Challenge 2026?
As a church, we are working together to complete 2,025 personal Quiet Times per month. This challenge would give a total number of 24,300 personal Quiet Times per year. The challenge is for everyone to complete as many personal Quiet Times every week that they can and report their progress each Sunday to the church. Each personal Quiet Time would be counted and added to the overall church goal.
What is a Personal Quiet Time?
A Quiet Time is an important part of a Christian's everyday life. It is a time to go to a comfortable and rather secluded place in (usually) their own home, where they can draw close to God without distractions.

It consist of:
  1. Reading a part of the bible.
  2. Journaling on what you read.
  3. Praying.
Why do a Personal Quiet Time?
The Word of God is full of scriptures that teach us the importance of God's Word in the life of a believer. Psalm 119:97-104 is very specific in describing the benefits of one who loves the Word of God. The Psalmist tells us that because of the Word of God, he is wiser than his enemies, teachers and the people that have gone before him. He also enjoys the benefits of taking paths that do not lead to judgement.
Churchwide Reading Plan
We as a church, use a reading plan that is produced and published by Word of Life Ministries. You can get this plan through a book that is available for purchase at the church for $25 or the weekly plan is printed in the church bulletin. The sermon at each service is preached from the weekly reading plan in order to help you with extra understanding and application. We also offer Sunday School classes centered around the weekly reading.

H.E.A.R. Journal

If you are struggling with how to begin your discipleship journey, we have a helpful tip for you. Just follow the H.E.A.R. method and remember we are always happy to help you,

HIGHLIGHT

As you read each say's passage, try to se the "big" picture of what the bible is communicating. Sometimes there is a lot going on as once in a passage and it is beneficial to notice a particular verse that speaks to you. By doing this, you can focus on one specific topic for your day's reading and application. This is the "Highlighted" verse. In your journal, write the reference and or the entire verse so that you can easily refer back to it.

EXPLAIN

Try to "Explain" what the writer if saying or what is going on in the text. Write your explanation in your journal. It is always best to try to understand as much as possible on your own, but commentaries can be a great help with this portion. Try to understand first and then read commentaries to make sure your understanding is correct. The Quiet Time book that is offered at the church provides a short explanation of each says reading.

APPLY

It is not enough to simply read and understand the meaning of God's Word. It is vitally important for you to "Apply" God's Word to your life. This sometimes requires prayer and reflection. Some helpful questions to consider during this time are: As a result of what the bible is teaching me, is there anything that I need to do or stop doing? Is there a sin that I should confess? Is God simply teaching me more about His character? Whatever it is, "be a doer of God's Word and not just a hearer" ~James 1:22

RESPOND

This is where you not only "Apply" God's Word to your life, but you actually do what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. To "Respond" is to create a plan of action and execute it. Sometimes you might need to pray and thank God for something or write a letter to someone. Maybe you need to forgive or seek forgiveness. The possibilities are endless and specific to your life. Whatever it is, don't delay, do it as soon as possible.
